In 2010, Sadam Engineering undertook the transfer of a sugar silo with a capacity of 20,000 t from a plant in Castiglion Fiorentino (Arezzo) to a plant in Russia. The iron silo had a diameter of 40 metres and was 35 metres tall, including the tower and a service booth equipped with all the machinery and systems necessary to condition the silo and load and unload the sugar.
Sadam Engineering managed and supervised the disassembly, transfer and reassembly in Russia. For the new installation, we provided the engineering for the foundation and civil works, as well as a new setup for the conditioning and the electrical tracking necessary to preserve the sugar in the harsh winter temperatures of its new location. For the disassembly and reassembly, we worked with a Russian partner that is one of the leaders in systems installation in Eastern Europe.
